The Cabarrus County Republican Party Endorsements for the 2025 Elections

The Executive Committee of the Cabarrus County Republican Party would like to thank all the Republican candidates who attended our open endorsement forum on Thursday, August 28th.
The Cabarrus County Republican Party Executive Committee announces the Party has endorsed the following candidates:
CITY OF CONCORD
  • Mayor: Republicans Lori Clay
  • City Council District 4: John Paul
  • City Council District 5: Terry Crawford
CITY OF KANNAPOLIS
  • Mayor: Doug Wilson
  • City Council: Dianne Berry, Isaiah Payne, and Naomi Hatchell
TOWN OF HARRISBURG
  • Mayor: Republican Jennifer Teague
  • Town Council: Mike Thevenin and Lex Thomas 
TOWN OF MIDLAND
  • Mayor: John Crump
  • Town Council: Mike Tallent
TOWN OF MOUNT PLEASANT
  • Board of Commissioners:  Lori Furr and Michael Steiner

The following candidates were disqualified from consideration:

  • Phil Goodman - eligibility revoked following absence from the appointed committee meeting
  • Jeffery Haney - eligibility revoked following absence from the appointed committee meeting
  • Darrell Hinnant - eligibility revoked following absence from the appointed committee meeting
  • Tom Kincaid - eligibility revoked following absence from the appointed committee meeting
  • Jack Lambert - eligibility revoked following absence from the appointed committee meeting
  • Steve Morris - disqualified due to active Republican Party censure
  • Jamie Richardson - eligibility revoked following absence from the appointed committee meeting
  • Ashley Starnes - eligibility revoked following absence from the appointed committee meeting
