Applications Being Accepted for Commissioner Vacancy

It won't be easy to fill the seat of Commissioner Shue. By State statute, G.S. 153A-27.1, the Cabarrus County Republican Party only has 30 days from the occurrence of the vacancy to make a recommendation to the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners to fill the open seat.  

Chairman Lanny Lancaster has called for a closed session of the Cabarrus County Republican Party to consider an appointment to fill the vacant seat for the remaining term of Commissioner Lynn Shue on the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners. Any registered Republican living in Cabarrus County as of January 31, 2025, may express their interest via email. 

Interested Republicans should submit their cover letter listing qualifications and interest, along with a professional resume via email to Cabarrus County Republican Party Secretary Deborah Bamford at [email protected] at any time. Applicant information must be received by the Republican Party no later than 5 pm on Thursday, November 20th.
