ALL REGISTERED REPUBLICANS ARE URGED TO VOTE ON ELECTION DAY
Polling places will open at 6:30am on November 4th and will remain open until 7:30pm. Any registered voter in line at their assigned polling place by 7:30 pm will retain their privilege to vote, no matter how many persons are in line at the deadline.
PHOTO ID IS REQUIRED. ONLY REGISTERED VOTERS MAY VOTE ON ELECTION DAY.
Cabarrus County registered voters may only vote on Election Day at their assigned polling place. This differs from early voting, where eligible individuals may cast a ballot at any early voting site in their county. Appearing at the wrong precinct, failing to be a registered voter, or failing to present a photo ID on election day will require the voter to submit a provisional ballot. After Election Day, election officials will review the details of the provisional ballots. Only if a provisional application is approved will the voter’s provisional ballot be removed from the sealed envelope and their ballot counted.
VOTE BY MAIL
Mail ballots must be received by the Board of Elections by 7:30 PM on Election Day (With a copy of your Photo ID). They may be received by mail or hand-delivered to the Cabarrus County Board of Elections office. According to state law, only you, or your near relative or legal guardian, may mail or hand-deliver the Return Envelope. Do not give your balloting materials to a neighbor, friend, or stranger. A near relative is your: Spouse, brother, sister, parent, child, stepchild, grandparent, grandchild, stepparent, mother-in-law, father-in-law, daughter-in-law, or son-in-law. If you need assistance returning your ballot due to disability, these restrictions do not apply, and you may ask any person you choose to return your ballot.
Your County Board of Elections must receive the ballot by 7:30 pm on Election Day.
Learn More About Voting by Mail. You can find out when your vote is counted in the “Your Absentee Ballot” section of the Voter Search database. Under North Carolina law, all early votes — by-mail or in-person — are considered absentee votes. Your ballot status also will show up in the “Voter History” section as soon as your county completes the post-election process of assigning voter history to your record.
