Cabarrus County Republican Party Accepting Applications to Fill Vacancy Left by Resignation of Commissioner Larry Pittman

Concord, NC — The Cabarrus County Republican Party announced it is accepting applications from qualified individuals to fill the vacancy on the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners created by Commissioner Larry Pittman's resignation, effective September 30.

The Cabarrus County Republican Party Executive Committee will review applications and recommend a candidate for appointment to the Board of Commissioners by October 30, 2026, in accordance with North Carolina law and party procedures.

Cabarrus County Registered Republicans as of October 30, 2025, may start the application process by emailing [email protected] to request an application packet. Applicants must return their completed application packets, including a cover letter, resume, and candidate vetting questionnaire, no later than 5pm on Saturday, October 24th.
