Lanny Lancaster Set to Retire as Chairman

Cabarrus County, N.C. — Lanny Lancaster, a longtime leader of the Cabarrus County Republican Party, will retire as county chairman effective December 31, 2025, concluding a distinguished career marked by strategic leadership and electoral success.

Lancaster has served in party leadership for three decades, including four terms as Cabarrus County Republican Party Chairman and two terms as vice chairman. His service also includes membership on the Cabarrus County Board of Elections, the North Carolina 8th District Republican Executive Board—where he served as finance chairman—and the North Carolina Republican Executive Committee. In 2024, he represented North Carolina as an alternate to the Electoral College.

Lancaster was recently inducted into the North Carolina Republican Hall of Fame in recognition of his decades of leadership and service.

“As I prepare to retire, I am grateful for the trust placed in me by the Republicans of Cabarrus County,” Lancaster said. “Together, we strengthened our party and delivered Republican victories at every level. It has been an honor to serve.”

Lancaster holds a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Science and has established a successful career spanning several businesses. His professional background includes experience in aircraft valuation services, contracting, and valuation consulting. He is also a pilot, auctioneer, broker, appraiser, and general contractor, with business activities throughout the Southeast.

Following his retirement as Chairman, Lancaster plans to focus on his business interests, spend more time with his family, and travel.
